I took Saturday off and my family and I went to KC for the Japan Festival.

We had a LOT of fun. The best part was the Taiko drums. Loud as hell, but the sheer energy of the preformers was astonishing.

We also took part in a beginning calligraphy workshop, a Kendo workshop (hubby and daughter had a blast wacking the workshop instructors who were wearing armor), and generally just had a nice relaxing day.
I meant to blog about it sooner, but haven't had a moment until now.
We are already looking forward to going again next year.
