Wednesday Word and a bonus word

Ok, I am going to try this again.

For some reason, when I posted this yesterday, it didn't actually show up, although it is showing in my posts.

Huh ... anyways, here is the Wednesday Word post - now TWO days late.

With yesterday being the first day of classes, it's no wonder time slipped by and I never managed to post Wednesday's Word. Today almost slipped past without me doing Thursday Thirteen - but that will be another post. : )

Wednesday's Word is ... Clock.

I know we all know what it is, but the origins of the word is from the Medieval Latin word CLOCCA, which meant bell. See early clocks didn't have faces, so the bell had to ring to tell you what time it was.

I got interested in this little tid bit after reading one of the books in a series by Jeffery Deaver, that follows The Bone Colector (which was made in to a movie featuring Angelina Jolie and Denzel Washington.)

Since I was a day late with this word, I will give you a bonus word, something related.

Horology is the bonus word.

It is the art or science of time pieces and measuring time.
