FIVE QUESTIONS from Jolie du Pre, editor of Iridescence, for Michelle Houston, author of The Window of the Soul.

1. Why do you write erotica?

I suppose that I write erotica for the same reason many others do - it's fun, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I love to write and erotica just fits. : ) As an avid reader, nine out of ten titles on my shelves are romances or erotica titles. I do rad other things, but I couldn't imagine writing anything else.

2. What do you like best about lesbian erotica?

It's often soft, and sensual. With two woman, almost all the curves of theur bodies are smooth and silky.

As a bisexual woman, I appreciate men and woman, for their similarities and their differences. Men tend to be harder, a bit rougher around the edges. Woman are just sleeker.
3. What is the theme of your story, "The Window of the Soul" in Iridescence: Sensuous Shades ofLesbian Erotica?

The narrator is a photographer, trying to build up a steady boudoir practive. In the mean time, she settles for doing cutsy kid photots and the like.

When Diana comes into her studio to haver her boudour shots done, the narrator wonders what her clothing hides, because the way she is dressed is rather uninspired.

As the story continues, she finds that Diana is actually a very alluring woman, in tune with her sexual wants and needs. Through the photo shoot, the nattaror comes to see Diana as she truly is inside - wild and without inhibitions.

5. Just for fun! Gym Shoes or Stilettos?
LOL Stiletos are fun when I want to go out and sex it up. But the other 99.9% of the time - it's gym shoes all the way. Give me a nice, comfortable pair of tennis shoes, well broken in but not falling apart, and I am happy.

That is, when you can force me to wear shoes at all. LOL
