Less than 36 hours to go ...

Broken Wings will be out in less than 36 hours.  To say I am nervous about how this story will be received, is an understatement.  I feel in love with Nickolas the moment I met him.  He is so confident and loving and exactly what Gabriel needs.

Here's a brief taste for Broken Wings while we wait for the release on Tuesday.

As he surrendered to Nick’s kiss, his eyes started to drift closed and as darkness enveloped him, he jerked. Cold chills broke out over his skin and he drifted for a moment, lost between what was happening and what had come before. Gabriel went to pull back, but Nick kept his hand clasped around the nape of his neck, holding him still. Shifting his face, Nick pressed his lips against Gabriel’s ear. “Open your eyes. You’re safe here. Just open your eyes.”

Gabriel’s lids lifted, and he stared into the calm green of Nick’s eyes. 

“Keep your eyes focused on me.”

Gabriel nodded, and blue gaze locked on green as Nick pressed soft kisses against his cheek, slowly moving back to his lips. At the firm touch of lips against his, Gabriel opened his mouth, accepting the raspy wetness of a masculine tongue sliding into his mouth again. It felt odd to be staring into someone’s eyes while kissing, but at the same time, it grounded him in the moment. Except for brief flashes of darkness as he blinked, he remained focused on Nick – his gaze, his firm touch against the back of his neck, his kiss, the feel of being surrounded in masculine heat.

The very scent of Nick’s cologne seeped into his pores, until all that mattered was the man who was holding him so gently, with such strong confidence. At any moment he could break away; Nick wasn’t forcing him to stay. Instead, his embrace said he was confident that given the choice, Gabriel would chose to stay in his arms. And he was right.

The depth of the kiss changed slowly, until it was impossible for Gabriel to tell where Nick left off and he began. Their tongues were dueling, not for dominance of the kiss, but for sheer pleasure of contact.
As Nick pulled away, Gabriel found himself panting softly, trying to regain his emotional footing. For a brief moment in time, the past had ceased to exist.

When I was writing Butterfly's Effect, Elaine had a meeting with a man who she really didn't get along with - Richard Mills.  When I was getting the re-release of Butterfly's Effect ready, a young woman named Lisa started talking to me.  

She was adamant that Richard was only an ass to those who didn't really know him.  To those who worked for him, he was everything they could want in a boss.  She demanded that I give her a chance to tell everyone about him - which was all well and good, except that when I actually sat down to start writing the story - she promptly told me nevermind, I could forget it.  She was mad at him and he could go play in traffic.  This intrigued me ... I had to know more.

And so Desire's String was born ...

BUTTERFLY'S EFFECT: Elaine’s relationship with her office assistant went from a normal friendship to lovers, and they are both struggling to find the balance between their professional and personal lives together.  Steve wants to take things public, but Elaine is worried about possible complications.  So he decides to show her who's boss, with a little help from her submissive nature and a sexy new toy in Michelle Houston’s Butterfly’s Effect.

BROKEN WINGS, the first in my The Dogs of War series, is finished.

Now I am working on the editing stage. :) I am hoping to have the editing done, and rewrites finished up, and the story to you by end of August.

While war was hell, it was the aftereffects that slowly eats away at the soul. For Gabriel O'Roarke and other like him, truer words have never been spoken. Returning to civilian life after surviving events that should have killed him, he struggled to adjust and find himself again. Suffering from PTSD, he is without hope, until a chance encounter with a fellow soldier changes things.

 Can a broken submissive, grief stricken at the loss of his friends and teammates, damaged by months of captivity and torture, learn to fly again?

In the mean time, how about a teaser?

The Dogs of War (i.e. what I have been up to!)

About three years ago, a character started talking to me.  But this character was unlike any other I had previously met. As you all know, I normally tend to write fairly light characters.  The world is serious enough.  Yet Gabriel was tormented.  He suffers PTSD.

To do his story justice, I started researching PTSD and the more I researched, the more depressed I got. So Gabriel fell silent.

He finally started talking to me again, and then my own life started getting chaotic.  There was a change in jobs, some health issues, and some major losses in my family.  In short, the last couple years have been rough.  He fell silent again ... as did all of the other characters in my head.

About a month ago, he started talking again ... and I am finally ready to unveil his story which is almost ready to be released. :)  What's more, the other characters that have stories still waiting to be told are finally starting to talk to me again as well.  So I am back to writing, and I am hoping to not fall off of the radar again.  My release schedule will still be very sporadic, but I am hoping to work on the plethora of stories filling my head (as a minimum) each week.

New cover art - Blackout!

I got the cover art in for my June 21st release, BLACKOUT, a first for me from Noble Romance.

Blackout is a "Hot Hot Hot" M/M erotic romance (as my editor described it). LOL

It's hell being in love with someone who doesn't know you're alive. Or rather, who doesn't see you as anything more than an employee. A new place to find my writings ...

It's been a while since I have posted, I know. Mainly because I am heading in to finals crunch time and I simply have little to no spare time.

But I just had to set aside studying to announce that I signed my first contract with Noble Romance!

The story that was contracted is called BLACKOUT.

Extra! Extra!

CAGING THE TIGER has been accepted for publication with Phaze. It will tentatively come out December 28th of this year.

Kyle though that he was all alone, the only of his kind, until he attended a magic show and saw through the spectacle to the method behind the illusion. If he wasn’t wrong, Meric the Magician, in addition to being his best friend, was also a tiger shifter.

New Cover Art: Embracing the Leopard & Unleashing the Jaguar

I LOVE doing cover art. LOL Especially my own. : )

Part of doing cover art is that I am able to do some of my own covers ... and the newly accepted Animal Attraction stories are no exception.

Given that I am out of classes on spring break, I actually have some free time and managed to not only get my first Awe-Struck cover done, but also the covers for my two shifters stories.

But if he wants to have a life beyond one trapped in his animal form, he has to take the chance of his feelings rekindling.

BEHIND THE COVER: The first book in this series, Taming The Wolf, came out before I joined the Phaze cover art team. Because I planned then to work a series of same topic stories, I wanted to have a concept in mine for the cover. I wanted a sexy man and an animal, and not a lot of glitz and glamour. So I worked up the basic concept to the cover for Taming The Wolf and handed it off to the Phaze art dept. When I started doing cover art, I asked if I could start working on my own as well, and I was given permission. So while I didn't design the cover for the first book, all of the rest are mine, as is the basic concept. The original cover artist did a good job of following what I wanted to get across. Something sleek, simple, and yet sexy.

As I mentioned in my previous post today started out great.

It got even better when I opened my email. : )

Phaze has accepted my latest submissions. Stories 2 (Embracing the Leopard) and 3 (Unleashing the Jaguar) in my Animal Attraction series will be coming out June and August respectively.
